Plans without implementation
A continuity plan may identify priorities, but if people, systems and suppliers are not aligned, the service may still fail during disruption.
From Plan to Implementation
Afrocentric IP’s integrated business continuity solution connects planning, disaster recovery, backups, infrastructure and alternative working arrangements. We help South African organisations identify essential services, prepare for disruption and test whether people and technology can keep those services operating.
Connecting business priorities to recovery, infrastructure and operational readiness.
The Challenge
A continuity plan may identify an urgent activity without establishing whether its applications, staff or suppliers can support it during disruption. A recovery platform may restart successfully while the business process remains unavailable. IBCMS connects those gaps through one service view.
A continuity plan may identify priorities, but if people, systems and suppliers are not aligned, the service may still fail during disruption.
Technology may restart successfully while the actual business process remains unavailable. Recovery must be judged by usable service restoration.
IBCMS connects people, facilities, information and ICT dependencies, helping management identify gaps, prioritise improvements and make informed investment decisions.
We consider how people, facilities, information and ICT depend on each other.
The Journey
A coordinated journey from understanding the potential impact of disruption to implementing effective continuity arrangements.
A Business Impact Analysis examines what happens when an activity is interrupted and how those consequences change over time. We help connect that analysis to people, workplaces, suppliers and supporting ICT.
A usable plan explains who can activate an alternative arrangement, what staff must do and how decisions are communicated. We help connect those decisions to technical runbooks and operating procedures.
Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is the target restoration period for a defined service. Recovery Point Objective (RPO) identifies the point in time to which its information must be recovered. Tests should compare usable service restoration with the agreed objectives.
Recovery architecture needs to reflect how the organisation’s service becomes usable. Applications may depend on identity, network routes, databases, licences, certificates and external interfaces.
Exercises turn assumptions into findings the organisation can act on. Results identify demonstrated capability, excluded dependencies and corrective work with owners and due dates.
Work Area Recovery considers the location, equipment, access, communication and supervision needed by critical roles when their usual workplace is unavailable.

Our IBCMS Approach
Six stages connecting business continuity planning to operational readiness.
Understand your organisation, identify critical services and define continuity objectives.
Develop and validate plans, define roles and responsibilities, and ensure people and technology are ready.
Implement controls and safeguards to reduce the likelihood and impact of disruptions.
Restore critical services within agreed timeframes (RTO) and with minimal data loss (RPO).
Maintain operations at an acceptable level while recovery activities are completed.
Test, review and refine plans, learn from experience and adapt to changing risks and requirements.
Identify critical processes, dependencies and potential impacts to prioritise recovery efforts and inform continuity strategies.
Define how quickly services need to be restored (RTO) and how much data can be lost (RPO) to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular testing, simulations and plan reviews to ensure effectiveness, identify gaps and build confidence across the organisation.
